In the past, law students have not suffered for want of good text-books on Hindu law. Those text-books, however, have lost their utility after the passing of the recent Hindu Acts during 1955-56. They require be re-editing, revising and adapting in the light of the recent statutory changes in Hindu Law. There is now no single book which can be recommended to the student of today, which he may follow while preparing for the examination. The recent Hindi Acts embody great alterations in prior Hindu Law, necessitated by the revolutionary changes going on in our Hindu society.
