The unanimous and hearty commendation of the first volume by professors of church history and other scholars of the various evangelical denominations on both sides of the Atlantic, and the extent to which it has been adopted as a text-took in theological seminaries and universities of different denominations has stimulated the author to endeavor to make the present volume even worthier of acceptance.
