This deliberately outrageous novel deserves to read, even by those who will find that deserves to be that they detest. As usual Mr. Raven is compulsively readable.
Obviously destined to be the most smashing popular success since sapper. It terrifies it sometimes nauseates but it demonstrates one thing triumphantly: Mr. Raven can write. This is story telling as it ought to be... An outstanding book by a young man who is blessedly intelligent and an original... It is not however for the squeamish.. Bram stoker himself could not have provided more dark shocks.
