Book Description
The object of this book is to present a bird's eye view of the work of a medieval Hindu king, that is to say, the head of a Hindu state after the age of the continental empires and the Saka and H?na invasions but before the intrusion of Muslim dynas- ties had produced the characteristic distractions in Hindu society with which Indian historians are familiar. The special use- fulness of the Hoysa?as for this purpose is explained in the first chapter. The research upon which this work is chiefly based was done under the patient and meticulous supervision of Dr L. D. Barnett and culminated in a thesis, submitted in 1949
