The theme of the present work was suggested by Sri Moropant Pingley, working president of 'Sri Babasaheb Apte Smaraka Samiti', towards the end of April 1982 during my stay at Pune for the recovery of my health. Being interested in Indian history, I could at once appreciate the importance of the subject. It is commonly known that many scholars have wide range of differences regarding the date of the Bharata War, though the reasons are not always comprehensive. Hence I have felt that this is an opportunity and decided to apply myself to collect the material.
