Vachanamritam is the quitessence of the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Vedant Sutras, the Bhagwat Geeta and the other scriptures, spoken by the Lord Himself. It therefore, contains the words of wisdom eternal in nature and redemptive in character, the words even though transcendental are comprehensive to the empiric mind. It is in the form of dialogues between the saints and the Lord on various subjects concerning the spiritual development of the Jivas. It lays a great stress on spiritual experience based on philosophical understanding.
