Sri Karunamayi was born on the most auspicious day of Vijaya Dashami, the tenth day of Victory. Vijaya Dashami is the culmination of the nine-day Navaratri festival honoring the Divine Mother,, and it  commemorates. Her victory over the negative forces of the universe. Hence Sri Vijayeswari’s the compassionate Mother, or simply Amma, our beloved Mother.

Amma’s love and compassion are showered equally on all who approach her, irrespective of race, color or creed. Her shining example and inspiring teachings serve as a beacon light to guide humanity in its eternal quest for spirituality, peace and Divinity.
