Book Description
A sizable population of the world lives near the coastal regions. Large number of tourists also visit these places. Coastal regions are, however, exposed to many natural and man-made threats. They include tropical cyclones, hurricanes, tsunamis, perilous sea-level rise, oil slicks and other off-shore hazards. Every years, many people lose their lives after being exposed to such threats. A large tsunami can even wipe out a whole civilization. Many disasters, the book argues, can be averted if early warning is sounded.
